More affordable courses compared to other English-speaking territories, coupled with high visa acceptance rates, make Ireland an irresistible choice for education. Frequently dubbed as the ‘Silicon Valley of Europe,’ it houses global corporate titans like Google, Amazon, Facebook, and Apple. With a burgeoning economy amidst its small, tightly-knit population, Ireland offers a job market rich with possibilities for its students. So, why choose Ireland? Because it’s where your extraordinary journey begins!
The program in question is popularly known as the 25+8 weeks program, indicating a schedule of 25 weeks of English language classes with an additional 8 weeks of vacation. This program features an 8-month permit residence for each term that can be extended twice, meaning you don’t have to reapply for a permit and you can reside in Ireland for up to 2 years. This presents a golden opportunity for you to accumulate international work experience, thereby honing your English proficiency while exploring the length and breadth of Europe!
This program offers an experience like no other, filled with fun and learning. It allows you to take up part-time work while attending classes, further enhancing your immersion into the European lifestyle and work culture.
As for travel within Europe, we suggest Ryanair, known for their affordable flight tickets. Why choose the Work and Study program in Ireland? Because it seamlessly blends language learning, work experience, and travel adventures into a package you can’t resist!
Our morning classes are conducted from 9 AM to 12 PM, while the afternoon sessions take place from 2 PM to 5 PM. We’re proud to say that all our students, across both sessions, have successfully found employment. We provide flexible timing because we understand our students’ needs. Transferring from morning to afternoon classes, or vice versa, is allowed whenever there’s availability.
As for the difference between morning and afternoon classes, and how to choose between them? Your choice could hinge on your personal routine, job commitments, or preference for learning time. Both options provide the same high-quality teaching and the same opportunities for work and exploration. It’s all about what suits you best!
There’s a wide array of part-time job opportunities in Ireland! Generally, students find employment in retail, catering, hotels, healthcare, restaurants, and more. If you possess a high level of English and have skills in specific areas, you’re encouraged to apply to those companies.
You’re permitted to work up to 20 hours a week (part-time). However, during the summer season from June through September and the Christmas period from December to January, you’re allowed to work full-time for up to 40 hours a week.
The current minimum wage per hour is 11.30 euros. With this rate, you can expect to earn a salary starting from 904 euros a month. This not only supports your living expenses but also gives you the chance to save while you learn and explore Ireland!
Yes, but our school will assist you. We offer a free Job Club every Wednesday. This club teaches you how to job hunt, build an impressive CV, and answer interview questions effectively.
We also collaborate with various industries. Some companies visit our school to recruit new potential employees.
Recently, we’ve invited airport and healthcare company representatives to our school, enabling many of our students to secure jobs instantly.
Additionally, we have partnerships with stores, restaurants, and pubs. They inform us when they need staff, and we then pass these job opportunities onto our students! None of our students have trouble finding work.
First and foremost, embassies require students to secure accommodation for at least the first two weeks. Typically, our students book and pay for their first 2-4 weeks in advance, then, upon their arrival in Ireland, they look for more affordable long-term living options. The average monthly rental price is around 700 euros (~RM 3,500).
We also provide “Homestay” services (living with a Irish family) and Student Accommodation (Hostels).
While finding a job in Ireland is not difficult, finding a place to live can be more challenging. Therefore, our school provides dedicated dormitories for ELI students, so they don’t have to worry about accommodation.
Homestay: Breakfast and dinner are provided from Monday to Friday, and three meals are provided over the weekend.
Student Accommodation: Self-catering, within walking distance of the school.
Students only need to be at least 18 years old to work legally in Ireland. The average age of our students is 28 – 45 years, but we also have students with visas who are 57 years old!
International students in Ireland have a unique option, the Critical Skills Work Permit. With this work permit, you can get a full-time work visa for 2 years. After living in Ireland for these 2 years with this work visa, you can apply for a long-term resident permit.
Critical Skills mean: Engineers, IT Talents, Medical Professionals, Chefs, and so on. Those with a relevant background can find jobs in Ireland with a higher starting salary (averaging 30,000 – 40,000 euros a year).
